When my daughter Emily was born, and before I started Blueberry Babies, I discovered a very special baby book in the shop of my friend, Florence Brown.
It was exquisite - hand made and like no other baby book I'd ever seen. There was a place to write about how I met her dad, where we were when I went into labor, how her birth unfolded and how Emily filled our hearts. Writing Emily's history in this book and sharing it with her has been such a gift. She can look through the book and know how much we wanted her and where she comes from. It makes us all feel very special.
One of the pleasures I've had in owning Blueberry Babies, is finding baby gift treasures like the books at Rag and Bone Bindery and being able to offer them on our website. For those of you who know me, I am a geek, and get very excited at the idea that technology can bring unique and one of a kind products to everyone, no matter where they live.
It has been a pleasure to offer Rag and Bone Bindery's Baby's First Book for the past 6 years at Blueberry Babies. So many of our customers have returned when their second, third and fourth babies arrive so that each new member can have this special baby book too.
As our customer's families have expanded, we've decided to expand our offerings from the Rag and Bone Bindery. We've recently opened The Rag and Bone Boutique at Blueberry Babies and filled it with many, many new styles, all offered in your choice of 30 cover styles, ranging from simple and elegant dupioni silk in luscious colors to beautifully designed printed cotton fabrics and handmade paper.
Among my favorites, is the brag book. I have always thought it's a great way to keep photos that I love close at hand. These
books are covered in hand made paper and beautiful fabrics that make them a natural on the coffee table or in your bag.I have a friend with a great idea - she takes digital images of her girls every month and then chooses the best one and puts it in a folder on her computer. At the end of the year she has at least 12 images ready to print in our Digital Photo Albums and Scrapbooks as holiday gifts for Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, Cousins and Friends. At Blueberry Babies we have two sizes of Digital Albums and a Digital Scrapbook with your choice of 30 cover options. The scrap book even comes with electronic templates for you to download making your book even more personal.
For the traditionalists, there's a wonderful Paper Scrapbook filled with pages ready to hold your memories. It is available in three sizes. Another offering that I think is very innovative is the Accordion Album. This album can be folded and carried as a mini portable scrapbook, or displayed at home either as shown in the image to the left or folded to display two images.
And finally, the orignal product that started The Rag and Bone Bindery 18 years ago, theHandbound Journal. Recently back by popular demand, featuring 144 deckled pages in an easy to carry size, the Rag and Bone Journal is an elegant way to capture thoughts and stories a long the journey.
